Explosive Debut CD Sure To Arouse Passions Of Hard Rock Fans
Oakland, California—October 17, 2008—Melodic hard rock band Syrym today unleashed its monster debut. The self-titled album will initially be available on CD at CDBaby.com, as well as for digital download on iTunes, AmazonMP3.com, Rhapsody, and Napster. Syrym features the incredible guitar work of Babylon A.D. axe-slinger Ron Freschi, the thunderous rhythm section of bassist Rich Talley and Babylon A.D. drummer Jamey Pacheco, and the gritty, soul-infused vocals of Jeffrey Winslow, and the music is tailor-made for rock radio, live venues, and blowing out stereo speakers everywhere.
The late Eighties and early Nineties provided a showcase for the catchy hard rock and hair metal of bands such as Mötley Crüe, Ratt, Lynch Mob, and Babylon A.D. In 2008, Syrym has picked up that torch and run with it, delivering big hooks and even bigger riffs-all with the groove and swagger of those aforementioned bands.
The 12-song debut album kicks off with “Foul Mouth Blues,” a slithering, angst-ridden, defiant declaration of the end of an abusive relationship. A demo version of the song, featured on Garageband.com, received honors in the Hard Rock category for Best Male Vocals, Best Guitars, Best Drums, Best Bass, Best Production, Best Lyrics, Best Beat, and Most Rocking Track.
“Warpath” tackles the topic of cancer from a unique perspective, describing the immune system’s rampage through the disease.
“Ugly On The Inside” turns the inner-beauty cliché on its head with lyrics that state, “They only see my disguise, they can’t see that I am ugly on the inside.”
“Brokedown” relates the tale of someone pushing a friend to get their life together before they end up six feet under.
“What I’m Trying To Say” is a father’s emotional attempt to tell his young son that the family’s divorce was not caused by anything his son had done.
Recorded at Hatrix Media Studios in Tracy, California, the album was produced, engineered, mixed, and mastered by Freschi.
The complete track listing is as follows:
- Foul Mouth Blues
- Warpath
- Torn In Two
- Ugly On The Inside
- Brokedown
- The Sky Is Falling
- 30 & Dirty
- While America Sleeps
- Alive In The Real World
- Bring It On (Go Down Fighting)
- What I’m Trying To Say
- What I’m Trying To Say (Reprise)

Hey Guys & Gals!
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted any new information about the latest goings-on in the studio (and beyond). Well, I’ve got an excuse (although it’ll probably sound pretty weak): during that time we’ve been REALLY FREAKIN’ BUSY! And by busy, I mean we added a bass player and drummer (Rich and Jamey), we re-recorded all the bass and drum parts, touched up all the “little things” that we thought could sound better on the tracks, Ron did a HELLACIOUS job making the production sound AMAZING, we had a brand new photo shoot, got all the tracks off to our online distributor, and the finishing touches are being put on the CD artwork as we speak. So, to tide you over until you’re able to actually buy the album (which, for certain digital download stores will be days, not weeks…or so I’m told), we’ve posted audio clips of ALL 12 TRACKS FROM THE NEW ALBUM. Give ‘em a listen, and let us know what you think! And don’t forget to tell your friends about it… If you’re a fan of current Hard Rock; ’80s Hard Rock, Metal, and Glam; or all things related to Babylon A.D.; I think you’re gonna be pleased.
Keep Rockin’,
Jeffrey

Syrym is excited to announce the additions of drummer Jamey Pacheco (Babylon A.D., American Blues Box) and bassist Rich Talley (Rumors, The Megan Slankard Band). The first song showcasing this powerhouse rhythm section, “Foul Mouth Blues,” can be heard at Myspace.com/Syrym. The fiery debut album from Syrym—featuring Ron Freschi, Jeffrey Winslow, Jamey Pacheco, and Rich Talley—will be released in August.
As a founding member of Babylon A.D., drummer Jamey Pacheco has delivered crushing grooves worldwide. His signature percussive sound can be heard on numerous hard rock hits, including MTV and radio singles such as “Bang Go The Bells” from Babylon A.D.’s self-titled debut album, which went Gold.
Rich Talley currently plays guitar for San Francisco Bay Area band Rumors, and is the former bassist for the Megan Slankard Band. Playing lead guitar and bass for over 30 years, Talley has shared the stage with such artists as Tesla and Eric Martin.
The pre-release version of Syrym’s first single, “Warpath,” is currently available for download on iTunes and Amazon.com.

Oakland, California—May 16, 2008—Bay Area rock band Syrym, winners of eight awards on Garageband.com, have had their song, “Foul Mouth Blues,” selected as the indie music website’s Hard Rock Track of the Day for May 17, 2008. Track of the Day winners are selected based on reviews by musicians and music fans, with the best-reviewed song on a particular day receiving the nod. The band and song are then featured on a subsequent day.
The band also received honors in the Hard Rock category for Best Male Vocals, Best Guitars, Best Drums, Best Bass, Best Production, Best Lyrics, Best Beat, and Most Rocking Track.
“Foul Mouth Blues” is a slithering, angst-ridden, defiant declaration of the end of an abusive relationship. Musically, the song is a throwback to the sound of the heavy melodic rock groups of the late 1980s and early 1990s—bands like Lynch Mob, Ratt, Mötley Crüe, and fellow Bay Area rock stalwarts Babylon A.D.
Formed at the end of 2007 by vocalist Jeffrey Winslow and Babylon A.D. founding member/guitarist Ron Freschi, Syrym combines elements of the modern hard rock sound with the melody and bombast of hard rock’s heyday.
Growing up in Hayward, California, Freschi’s jazz guitar training soon gave way to the influence of guitar heroes such as Michael Schenker, Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, Dave Meniketti, Neil Schon, Warren DiMartini, Nuno Bettencourt, and George Lynch. Freschi was recruited by the Persuaders, who went on to release local rock radio hits such as “I’m No Good For You” and “Don’t Ask Questions.” The Persuaders eventually caught the ear of Arista Records president Clive Davis, who made them one of the label’s few hard rock acts, and the band proceeded to change their name to Babylon A.D. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1989, featured several MTV and Headbanger’s Ball hits, including “Bang Go The Bells,” “Hammer Swings Down,” and “The Kid Goes Wild,” which was featured in the film Robocop 2. The band’s sophomore effort, Nothing Sacred, was released in 1992. They went on to release several more albums on Perris Records.
Winslow got his start in the Bay Area’s rock music scene, performing with bands such as Killer Instinct and Scattergun, but really came into his own as a multi-dimensional vocalist in Santa Barbara, fronting funk-rock quintet Psycho Graffiti, as well as two gospel choirs. Since returning to the Bay Area, Winslow has repeatedly been called upon to provide vocals for studio sessions, has written and performed music for television and radio commercials and, most recently, held down lead vocal duties for East Bay hard rockers Vertigo and 3rd & King.
Syrym’s debut album is scheduled for release in Summer 2008.

Wait ’til you hear our latest song, “Warpath.” Killer! Ron is absolutely ON FIRE on this track. Warp-speed riffing, a thunderous beat—this song’s got it all. And the subject matter is not what it appears. But we’ll leave that for another time…
We’re working overtime to get this album finished. I think you’re really gonna like the end result. Here are some comments we’ve received on two of our posted songs.
Foul Mouth Blues
“I love the way the guitars wind around each other like a couple of horny snakes! The vocals are cool and laid back…fits the song perfectly.”
“Guitar tone sounds killer. Riff is very cool. Bass sounds great. Drums sound great. Vocals sound outstanding. This is a fantastic track.”
Torn In Two
“It kicks you from the get go, and doesn’t release it’s hold on you! It has a definite ’80s vibe, but the best music was made then.”
“This song defines hard rock! I LOVE the originality in the vocals and the rhythm guitar is amazing.”
